Who we are…
Rudely Stamp’d Historical Impressions is a theatre group specializing in historical portrayals and conversations as a means of teaching history. Founded by college professors Derek Maxfield and Tracy Ford in 2017, Rudely Stamp’d was initially comprised of individual historical impressionists portraying historical figures, but when the two actors took on the roles of General Ulysses S. Grant and General William Tecumseh Sherman, respectively, in Maxfield’s play Now We Stand By Each Other Always, the group shifted to a focus on theatrical production. In addition to variations of Now We Stand By Each Other Always, Rudely Stamp’d performers have also put on the plays Grant on the Eve of Victory and Brothers at Odds: The Brisbane Story, also written and directed by Derek Maxfield.
